[Saba Sports News] In the recent UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Atletico Madrid was eliminated by Real Madrid. According to Spanish media reports, Atletico Madrid has submitted video evidence to UEFA regarding misconduct by Real Madrid players after the second-leg match. Atletico Madrid recently submitted four videos to UEFA, showing inappropriate behavior by Real Madrid players after the Champions League derby. UEFA had previously investigated Atletico Madrid due to fans throwing around 30 to 40 plastic bottles and a lighter onto the pitch after the match. The videos include: Antonio Rudiger making a throat-slitting gesture towards Atletico Madrid fans, Vinicius Junior repeatedly provoking the crowd, Dani Ceballos making rude gestures in the players’ tunnel, and Kylian Mbappe touching his private parts in front of Atletico Madrid fans. Atletico Madrid emphasized in their statement that such behavior does not meet elite athlete standards and goes against UEFA’s spirit of fair competition. Atletico questioned why Diego Simeone was penalized for making a similar gesture towards Juventus but no action has been taken against Real Madrid players. UEFA is expected to decide on possible sanctions for Real Madrid soon.
