[Saba Sports News] On the eve of the BWF World Tour Finals, a significant piece of news broke as Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen announced his withdrawal from the tournament due to injury. Following his withdrawal, the BWF sent an email to the Danish side requesting relevant medical documents to exempt the athlete from penalties for not participating in the finals. This notification sparked strong discontent from Axelsen, who vented his frustrations on social media, stating, “I don’t feel the need to ‘complain’ about the BWF, but I am tired of the disconnect between the BWF and the players. Players need to go through the federation for everything, but I am a professional player with my own team, and I need to make my own decisions.” It is believed that Axelsen’s outburst reflects multiple issues within the BWF. Regarding player health, the BWF’s inconsistent actions and the mandatory participation regulations, along with fines, make players feel uncared for and raise questions about the federation’s management capabilities.
