[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media, Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni stated that the city is ready to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup Final and has communicated this wish to the Royal Spanish Football Federation. When asked in an interview about the 2030 World Cup, co-hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal, and Barcelona’s previous statement that it hoped to play a key role in the tournament, Collboni said: “The Barcelona City Council has made its stance clear. We aim to host the World Cup Final, the opening ceremony or another major flagship event.” Collboni added: “We will have Camp Nou, one of the finest stadiums in the world. Both the city of Barcelona and club president Joan Laporta i Estruch have reiterated this on numerous occasions. We are fully prepared and eager to host the final, and we have relayed this request to the Spanish Football Federation.”
