[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media, Barcelona have recorded a home attendance rate of 94.39% this season, with fans remaining highly enthusiastic in their first campaign back at the Spotify Camp Nou. With the gradual opening of the third stand next season, spectator numbers are expected to surge sharply, bringing a substantial rise in the club’s ticket revenue.Upon their return to Camp Nou, only the first and second stands were initially open, offering a capacity of 45,401 seats. An average of 43,996 spectators attended across 11 matches, equating to an attendance rate of 96.9%. On March 15, the first and second tiers of the north stand plus the fan stand reopened. The club sold an additional 14,000 season tickets to members, raising the stadium capacity to 62,652 seats. Later in the El Clasico clash, a new seasonal attendance record was set with 62,213 fans in attendance. Premium VIP tickets were priced as high as 12,500 euros, generating a single-match revenue of 16.2 million euros, a new all-time club record.
The editor believes that the third tier stands will be opened in phases next season. The side stands will open in September, the main stands by the end of the year, and the stands behind the goals will be accessible next April, eventually reaching the full capacity of 104,600 seats, which will drive a sharp rise in matchday revenue. Once the stadium capacity exceeds 80,000 seats, the substantial revenue growth generated by the venue will enable the club to stop draining cash flow. This stadium is turning into a goose that lays golden eggs.
