With the help of a sponsorship agreement with SBI
Life, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased its
revenue. SBI Life, the State Bank of India’s insurance division, has been named
by the BCCI as one of its official partners for both domestic and international
cricket for the 2023–2026 season. A statement that was released on Friday,
September 20 made the announcement.
One of the biggest insurance firms in India, SBI Life,
sealed the deal by agreeing to pay INR 85 lakh each game, which was more than double
the standard price of INR 75 lakh per game. The cooperation began with the
inaugural One-Day International (ODI) against Australia, which ended on Friday,
September 22 in Mohali.
This three-year deal with SBI Life covers 56 games,
just like the agreement with IDFC First Bank, the title sponsor for all
domestic bilateral series in India, who pays Rs 4.2 crore per game.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his satisfaction
with the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to welcome SBI Life on
board as an Official Partner for BCCI’s Domestic and International Season for
the next three years, leading up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
“SBI Life’s commitment to excellence aligns
perfectly with BCCI’s vision for cricket. This collaboration reflects our
commitment to promoting and supporting the sport of cricket at all levels. We
look forward to a fruitful partnership that will enhance the cricketing
experience for fans and players alike,” said Shah.
