[Saba Sports News] In a groundbreaking development for the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to introduce a unique incentive scheme for uncapped players in the upcoming IPL auction. This major initiative is designed to financially reward those players who earn international caps between IPL seasons.
Under the usual IPL guidelines, a player’s league fee is fixed for three years or until the player is released by the franchise that initially acquired them at the auction. However, this new plan introduces an exception to this rule for uncapped players. Should an uncapped player participate in ten or more international matches between two IPL seasons, they could see their league fee increase significantly, potentially even doubling the original amount.
