[Saba Sports News] Recently, Real Betis star Hector Bellerin once again spoke out, calling for improved conditions for matches played in high temperatures. Bellerin took to social media to express his concerns about playing in extreme heat and urged for stricter safety protocols. Bellerin stated, “My words are not a complaint but are for the safety and well-being of everyone involved in football players, staff, fans, etc. We need to reconsider protocols that prioritize the interests of a few while neglecting the health and safety of the majority.” Bellerin also emphasized that in a country increasingly affected by climate change, new measures are needed to avoid endangering everyone’s health. “I am not just talking about our work; I am speaking up for everyone. We cannot normalize working conditions that harm health.” Previously, after a match against Levante, Bellerin expressed his dissatisfaction: “Playing in 30-degree heat with 80% humidity in September is inhumane. While it is our responsibility to complete the match, it makes no sense. We need help to do our jobs better.” In response, La Liga president Javier Tebas Medrano addressed Bellerin’s comments: “The temperature was 28 degrees at the start of the match, but the intensity of the sunlight may have been an issue.” Tebas acknowledged the need for more measures, such as providing sufficient water and hats, to ensure the safety of players and spectators.
