While Bellingham was preparing for his side’s opening World Cup group stage match against Croatia, his influencer girlfriend Ashlyn Castro became involved in a bitter public spat with her mother Tina-Marie Young on social media. The 61-year-old Tina questioned her daughter online: “Who is Jude Bellingham? Bellingham, you are with my beautiful daughter, yet you let her abandon her mother in a shelter and lie to me?” She lamented that she was left stranded in a homeless shelter while her daughter travelled around the world. In response, the 28-year-old Castro claimed her mother had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had stopped taking her medication for more than a decade. Her mother hit back by saying: “It breaks my heart. I have family… yet I have a daughter who keeps telling lies.”
