[Saba Sports News] Recently, the FA announced that Rodrigo Bentancur would be banned for 7 matches and fined £100,000 for making racist remarks about Son Heung-Min. The FA stated in its announcement that an independent regulatory commission imposed a seven-match ban and a £100,000 fine on Bentancur for violating FA Rule E3 during a media interview. Bentancur was found to have violated FA Rule E3.1 for using abusive language. Furthermore, his actions constituted a “serious violation” as defined in FA Rule E3.2 for mentioning nationality or race, whether explicitly or implicitly. Bentancur denied the allegations, but the independent regulatory commission found the allegations to be true and imposed sanctions after the hearing. This season, Bentancur has started 7 of Tottenham Hotspur’s 11 Premier League matches and has made 3 substitute appearances, totaling 14 appearances in all competitions. On November 10, he scored with a header in a 1-2 defeat against Ipswich at Tottenham’s home ground.
