[Saba Sports News] Bill Simmons is once again donning his prognosticator’s hat. In a recent episode of his podcast, named after himself, the CEO of The Ringer made a bold forecast regarding the New York Knicks. Simmons confidently stated that the Knicks will secure the services of either Donovan Mitchell, Giannis Antetokounmpo, or Joel Embiid within the next year.
Simmons declared, “I guarantee it,” with regard to the Knicks’ acquisition of one of these three basketball stars, as reported by SI. There are already hints and speculation surrounding all three players in connection to the Knicks.
Mitchell was strongly linked to the team last summer before he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and being a New York native, he maintains a well-known affinity for the area.
Antetokounmpo recently expressed his reluctance to extend his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks if he doesn’t like the team’s direction, and the Knicks have been mentioned as a potential destination that intrigues him.
However, the most intriguing scenario involves Joel Embiid. The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in a state of flux with a coaching change from Doc Rivers to Nick Nurse, and James Harden, Embiid’s co-star, has openly expressed a desire to leave Philadelphia. If Embiid himself requests a trade from the 76ers, the Knicks could find themselves in a prime position.
They possess promising young talents like RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Mitchell Robinson, and Quentin Grimes, which could be enticing trade assets. Furthermore, some influential figures within the Knicks organization already have close ties to Embiid.
Bill Simmons, known for his extensive NBA connections, has a track record of accurate predictions, including one he made about a different team around this same time last year.
