[Saba Sports News] Recently, Bournemouth announced a £90 million stadium renovation plan that will double the capacity of the stadium. One of the smallest stadiums in the Premier League, Bournemouth plans to increase the seating capacity from the current 11,307 to around 20,500 over the next two and a half years, with space reserved to expand further to over 23,000. After the renovation, Vitality Stadium will become the second smallest stadium in the Premier League, surpassing Brentford’s G tech Community Stadium (which holds 17,000). It is reported that the stadium will not need to close during the expansion. The renovation will include demolishing the existing temporary south stand and expanding the existing north and east stands. Additionally, four corners will be filled to increase the number of seats. Built in 1910 and renovated in 2001, the stadium is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The club also released a set of stunning computer-generated images showing what the future stadium will look like, accompanied by the message: “Together we can achieve anything.” Furthermore, the club plans to modernize all facilities, including installing new fencing, relocating turnstiles, adding ticket offices, and creating more premium lounge spaces.
