This week, Stevens kicked off his new social media presence with a celebratory first post, sharing a photo of him and his family in the locker room with the Larry O’Brien Trophy after the Celtics clinched the NBA title.
Stevens excitedly captioned the post, “Fun first post! Go Cs!!!”
Transitioning from the Celtics’ head coach (2013-21) to the lead executive after Danny Ainge retired, Stevens has made several key moves to strengthen the team around stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. These include re-acquiring Al Horford and trading for Derrick White, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jrue Holiday, despite the difficulty of parting with beloved players like Marcus Smart and Robert Williams III. These decisions played a pivotal role in winning the Celtics’ first NBA title in 16 years.
For his efforts, Stevens was named the 2023-24 NBA Executive of the Year. Also featured in the viral Instagram photo is his son Brady, who plays guard at a notable college program.
