[Saba Sports News] Previously, Brighton officially announced the loan of 18-year-old South Korean winger Do-young Yun to Dutch club SBV Eindhoven, but the announcement was made in Japanese. The Brighton Korean Fan Group sent a letter to the club expressing strong dissatisfaction with the use of Japanese to announce Yun’s loan. In response, Brighton replied via email, expressing their apologies: “Thank you for your email. We sincerely apologize. All club news, including transfer updates, will be posted on our official Japanese X account, OfficialBHAJPN. Due to the club’s popularity in Japan, we are testing geolocated content for Asian audiences on Instagram to assess if there is a need for Asian or Japanese-specific accounts on the platform. This tweet was our first test content targeting Japan and South Korea. We had no intention of offending anyone, and we regret that we did not realize this could cause issues among South Korean fans. That was certainly not our intention. Moving forward, we would be very happy to work closely with the Korean fan group and engage with them on the type of content they would like to see. Please accept our sincere apology, and rest assured that we will make some minor adjustments to our social media strategy. Once again, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to collaborating with you in a more positive way moving forward.”
