[Saba Sports News] Brighton Football Club recently announced that first-team coach Roberto De Zerbi will be leaving his position at the end of this season. Initially, De Zerbi’s contract with Brighton was set to expire in 2026, but the club and De Zerbi mutually agreed to terminate the contract two years ahead of schedule. Following negotiations, both parties concluded that ending the contract earlier would allow the club to plan for the upcoming season in a timely manner, while also providing De Zerbi with sufficient time to consider his next move and future endeavors. De Zerbi, a 44-year-old Italian coach, has previously worked with several teams, including Palermo, Benevento, Sassuolo, and Shakhtar Donetsk. In September 2022, De Zerbi took over as the coach of Brighton, replacing Graham Potter, who moved to Chelsea. Under De Zerbi’s guidance, Brighton achieved their highest-ever top-flight ranking (6th) during the 2022/23 season and advanced to the Europa League last 16 earlier this season.
