[Saba Sports News] Brittney Griner was visibly frustrated with the officiating during Saturday’s matchup between the Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings — and she didn’t wait until after the game to speak her mind.
Just as her halftime interview with CBS Sports was about to begin, Griner abruptly turned away and walked toward the officials to voice her frustration over what appeared to be uncalled holding fouls against her.
“You know I call all my fouls,” Griner was heard saying. “Be f—ing better.”
Realizing her comments had been picked up on the live broadcast, Griner quickly paused and apologized before heading into the locker room.
Despite the heated moment, Griner and the Dream pulled out an 83-75 victory, with the veteran center contributing 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Griner has had several run-ins with officiating this week, and while her frustrations may be justified, getting caught venting on live TV was clearly not her intention — and she seemed aware of the slip-up.
