[Saba Sports News] Bronny James’ agent appears to be focused on steering him to either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Phoenix Suns.
A late May report indicated that James had only scheduled pre-draft workouts with these two teams and does not want a two-way contract, emphasizing his concern for a team’s development plan.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony confirmed this report, stating that NBA teams have struggled to evaluate James. Givony mentioned that teams “cannot get Bronny James into the building,” with only the Lakers and Suns having worked him out.
James’ agent, Rich Paul, reportedly opposes a two-way contract for Bronny, despite their commonality for late second-round picks. Givony currently projects Bronny to be drafted 55th overall by the Lakers.
This situation isn’t surprising given Bronny’s underperformance in his lone season at USC, prompting questions about his draft decision. LeBron James has long expressed his desire to play alongside his son in the NBA, and the Lakers drafting Bronny would fulfill that goal.
