[Saba Sports News] Damian Lillard is reuniting with a former Portland teammate.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Tuesday that the Milwaukee Bucks are signing shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. to a one-year deal in free agency.
Trent, 25, was one of the top remaining free agents this offseason, having averaged 16.4 points per game over the past three seasons with the Toronto Raptors and shooting 38.6 percent from three-point range. At 6-foot-5, he can also play small forward and has averaged over a steal per game in his career.
Lillard and Trent were teammates on the Portland Trail Blazers from 2018-21, including a Western Conference Finals appearance in 2019. With Malik Beasley now in Detroit, Trent will compete with Taurean Prince and Pat Connaughton for a starting wing position alongside Khris Middleton. However, Trent may need to mend fences with a key Bucks player he previously clashed with.
