[Saba Sports News] The Chicago Bulls are preparing for the 2024-25 season after a disappointing 39-43 finish last year. Ayo Dosunmu is expected to be a key contributor, but his status is uncertain after he sustained an upper-body injury during Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The team announced on X (formerly Twitter): “Injury Update: Ayo Dosunmu (left shoulder) is out for the remainder of tonight’s game.” Before his exit, Dosunmu recorded seven points, two rebounds, and a steal in 14 minutes. Starting in place of Coby White, who was sidelined with a groin injury, Dosunmu played a significant role.
Coming off a career-best season, Dosunmu averaged 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 50.1 percent from the field. The Bulls’ backcourt, featuring Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, and newcomer Josh Giddey, offers depth but presents a challenge for coach Billy Donovan in balancing minutes.
The Bulls, who lost 124-121 to the Grizzlies, have three preseason games remaining against the Bucks, Timberwolves, and Cavaliers. They’ll open the 2024-25 season on Oct. 23 against the Pelicans.
