[Saba Sports News] At the recently concluded F1 Canadian Grand Prix, a fierce on-track battle erupted between two drivers from McLaren. During a pit exit attempt to overtake teammate Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris collided with Piastri, causing him to crash into the pit wall and retire early. This scene reminded fans of a similar incident back in 2011 at the same circuit when Jenson Button and teammate Lewis Hamilton also collided on that straight. Now, as an F1 commentator, Button praised Norris’ reaction after the race. In interviews, Button expressed excitement seeing Norris quickly take responsibility and adjust his mindset positively. In Button’s view, this reflects genuine growth for a driver. Button emphasized that he likes to see such team competition, as both are striving for the world championship. Such friction is inevitable; the key lies in how you handle and face it. Button noted that F1 is currently undergoing a transition period, especially before the rule changes in 2026. Competent teams like McLaren must seize every chance to compete for the title.
