[Saba Sports News] Recently, former Liverpool player Andy Carroll appeared via video link at a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court. The charge against him came as a surprise: breaching a court restraining order against harassment. Last March, Carroll made a series of harassing phone calls to his ex-wife, British reality TV star Billi Mucklow. The court considered that Carroll had made repeated calls “without reasonable cause”, seriously disrupting his ex-wife’s life. Carroll was firm in his position at the hearing. When asked how he pleaded, he replied clearly with two words: “Not guilty.” The judge eventually ruled that Carroll may be released on bail. The case is scheduled to go to trial on January 18, 2027.
The editor believes that Carroll has completely let himself go since his divorce. On the pitch, his career has declined dramatically. He once played in the lower leagues in France on a basic salary, and has now dropped to England’s sixth tier to see out his career. Few players have had such a promising start followed by such a steep fall from grace.
