[Saba Sports News] In March 2023, Liverpool achieved a historic 7-0 victory over their arch-rivals Manchester United in the Premier League, marking the largest margin of defeat in the history of encounters between the two clubs. Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah each scored two goals for the Reds, while Roberto Firmino sealed the final score in front of the Kop stand. To commemorate this historic moment, Japanese manga artist Tsujitomo created a special comic artwork. Tsujitomo, known for his work on the “GIANT KILLING” series, personally visited Merseyside and Anfield to conduct research and preparation for this piece. His inspiration came from “the way Liverpool Football Club integrates players, staff, fans, and the stadium,” describing this passion and unity as “a powerful source of creative energy.” This LFC-themed artwork will be released to the public ahead of Sunday’s renewed clash between Liverpool and Manchester United. Tsujitomo stated, “Both manga and football can add color to your life, making it more vivid.” His illustration combines the seven celebratory moments from Liverpool’s historic match with the backdrop of a jubilant Anfield. Fans will soon be able to view this unique piece up close in the upcoming new Kodansha Corner II at Anfield.
