[Saba Sports News] Kai Jones, the center for the Charlotte Hornets, raised eyebrows with his unusual social media activity during the offseason. His bizarre Instagram live stream and critical remarks about some of his teammates garnered attention and concern.
With the regular season approaching, reports indicate that the Hornets are worried about Jones’ online behavior. Furthermore, his status with the team is uncertain as he opted out of all optional training sessions this offseason.
When asked about Jones’ social media conduct, Hornets head coach Steve Clifford acknowledged the situation but declined to provide further details, stating, “We are aware of the social media posts and it’s a situation that’s been handled internally.”
Despite Jones’ limited on-court contributions, the Hornets exercised the team option in his contract to retain him for the 2023-24 season. They have until October 31 to decide whether to exercise his fourth-year option for the 2024-25 season.
