[Saba Sports News] In a major announcement, Premier League club Chelsea recently revealed that it will partner with Cadbury to introduce British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation services during home matches for both the men’s and women’s teams. For deaf fans, being able to understand key decisions, player interviews, and the emotional impact of songs like “Blue is the Colour” through sign language interpreters greatly enhances their matchday experience. This allows them to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the game and enjoy the joy of football. As a well-known Premier League club, Chelsea’s initiative sets an example for other football clubs. Following Chelsea’s introduction of this service, West Ham United has also announced plans to introduce BSL interpreters for the 2025/26 season, while Newcastle has launched a real-time video sign language service called “SignVideo.” This shows that Chelsea’s move is triggering a chain reaction, driving progress toward more accessible viewing experiences across the entire Premier League.
