[Saba Sports News] At the Paris Olympics, China’s badminton “sister” Chen Yufei did not perform well and contemplated retirement. Fortunately, after six months of rest, Chen plans to make her comeback at the Asian Badminton Mixed Team Championships in February, and she has stated her ambition to compete for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. At 26, Chen Yufei won the women’s singles gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals at last year’s Paris Olympics. Following that, she chose to take a six-month break to study in Australia. In a recent interview, Chen revealed that she still loves badminton and has not completely given up on competing. She feels that her loss in Paris was not due to age, physical condition, or injury, but rather her mindset. After six months of rest, she believes there is still much room for improvement and growth. Chen believes that every journey has its significance, and her six months studying in Australia helped her rediscover her love for badminton. She is confident that she can continue to achieve good results on the court. Due to not participating in competitions for the past six months, Chen’s world ranking in women’s singles has fallen to fourth.
