[Saba Sports News] China’s badminton star Chen Yufei announced after the Paris Olympics that she would temporarily step away from the court to study and travel in Australia. Now, Chen Yufei has made plans to return to competition. Yesterday, she posted a farewell message to her study abroad life, stating that her ten-week study abroad experience has come to an end, thanking everyone she met during this time for making her feel recognized and loved even when away from the court. Chen Yufei revealed that after the Paris Olympics, she did not want to return to competition because she felt that those without ambition should not be there. During the previous two Olympic cycles, she consistently did what she was supposed to do. Once, protecting honor and bearing responsibility were things she took pride in, but after the Paris Olympics, she forgot this original intention and did not know what she should strive for anymore. Nevertheless, during her time studying in Australia, she began to reflect on these issues; now she knows how to start anew. It is reported that Chen Yufei has decided to appear in the China Badminton Super League, which will start on November 28. Yesterday, her team, Zhejiang Jingti Badminton Club, also reserved her spot on their team poster. Since this is a promotional poster for the Super League, it indirectly confirms that Chen Yufei’s return statement is true. However, since registration for all World Badminton Federation competitions this season has already closed, if Chen Yufei wants to appear on the international stage, she will have to wait until at least early 2025 for the Malaysia Open.
