[Saba Sports News] The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has just announced a major development, revealing the host cities for the 2027–2030 cycle of the BWF World Tour. China’s Chengdu and Shenzhen have secured the rights to host the Super 1000 and Super 750 events, respectively, making China one of the few countries in the world to hold two top-tier tournaments simultaneously. Both events secured by China are among the highest-level competitions in the BWF World Tour. The fact that China has won the hosting rights for both demonstrates the BWF’s high recognition of China’s event-organizing capabilities. These tournaments carry significant weight globally and serve as crucial platforms for top players worldwide to compete for honors and build their careers. China’s success in securing them further underscores the country’s prominent position in the world of badminton.
From our perspective, this achievement is no coincidence. Chengdu has previously hosted major international badminton events, boasting mature experience in organizing tournaments and world-class facilities that meet the highest international standards. Shenzhen, on the other hand, has long been committed to promoting badminton events, with strong market-oriented operation capabilities. By leveraging its advantages, Shenzhen can also drive the development of the sports industry in surrounding regions. The distinct strengths and characteristics of both cities have played a pivotal role in their successful bids. For Chinese badminton, the hosting of these two tournaments carries significant weight.
