[Saba Sports News] On July 22, in the mixed team final of the 2025 Asian Youth Badminton Championships, China defeated Thailand with a score of 110-90, successfully defending their title and winning the mixed team championship of this event. This marks the 10th time since the team competition format was changed to mixed teams in 2006 that China has lifted the championship trophy. It is worth noting that the Asian Youth Badminton Championships are a regional international high-level youth competition organized by the Badminton Asia Confederation. The event serves as a platform for identifying and developing top young badminton talent and also promotes cultural exchange. The 2025 Asian Youth Badminton Championships were held from July 18 to 27 in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. The mixed team competition started on the 18th, with 16 teams participating. It used an 110-point relay format, divided into group stage and knockout stages. The individual events took place from July 23 to 27. China showed strong performance in the group stage, finishing first in Group C alongside South Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines with three wins. In the knockout stage, China defeated Malaysia and Japan to reach the final.
