[Saba Sports News] Chinese badminton star Wang Chang and Chinese table tennis player Qian Tianyi officially announced their marriage on February 7, sharing a proposal video on Weibo that ignited a wave of blessings across the internet. The couple chose to register their marriage at the Civil Affairs Bureau in Dongcheng District, Beijing, on Qian Tianyi’s birthday, and they simultaneously posted on Weibo at 13:14, symbolizing “a lifetime together.” Wang Chang meticulously decorated the proposal site with a pink theme and knelt down to confess his love, stating, “From now on, love and luck will flow to you.” Qian Tianyi sweetly replied, “My birthday wish was to marry you, and it came true as soon as I opened my eyes.” Wang Chang revealed that he had spent a long time selecting the engagement ring, choosing a diamond ring from DR, symbolizing “a sincere heart only for you.” According to teammates, the two met during the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and have been quietly in a relationship for over 600 days. Previously, Wang Chang hinted at his relationship during a live stream in 2024.
Information shows that Wang Chang is a core member of the Chinese badminton men’s doubles team and a silver medalist at the Paris Olympics. Qian Tianyi is a left-handed star of the Chinese table tennis team and a four-time gold medalist at the Chengdu Universiade. Fans jokingly refer to their marriage as a “union” in the sports world, suggesting that their future child could aim for a “Grand Slam.” There is currently no information indicating that their marriage will affect their professional careers, and neither Wang Chang nor Qian Tianyi has mentioned any retirement plans. However, it is certain that starting today, Wang Chang’s championship goal now includes a new KPI: “to bring her happiness.”
