[Saba Sports News] The LA Clippers appear open to trading one of their bench talents, Bones Hyland. As reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Clippers are exploring trade options for the 23-year-old guard with the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline approaching.
Hyland, known for his scoring and ball-handling skills, was brought to the Clippers at last year’s deadline and is under a rookie contract until 2025. However, following the arrival of James Harden and the preferred bench rotation of Russell Westbrook and Norman Powell, Hyland’s court time has been minimal. He hasn’t been a regular in the rotation for almost three months, and his limited playtime, often in less critical game moments, has shown a tendency for over-dribbling and poor shot selection.
While Hyland represents a youthful prospect in the Clippers’ otherwise veteran-heavy squad, the team may consider a trade if they find valuable offers. This could potentially include Hyland as part of a package deal with a veteran player, especially if a trade provides Hyland with an opportunity for more significant playing time elsewhere.
