[Saba Sports News] Recent NBA trade developments have clarified that the Los Angeles Clippers were the ones who terminated discussions about a potential trade for James Harden.
This contradicts previous speculation that the Philadelphia 76ers removed him from the market. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst provided this insight on his “Hoop Collective” podcast.
Windhorst explained that the Clippers took the initiative to pursue a trade for Harden but ultimately decided to withdraw from negotiations, stating, “(The Clippers) tried to trade for James Harden, and that deal didn’t happen. And from what I understand, it was the Clippers who said, ‘Okay, there’s no deal here. We’re gonna move on.'”
Harden had initially expressed a desire to be traded to Los Angeles after opting to exercise his $35.6 million player option for the upcoming season in an unexpected move last June.
However, with the Clippers no longer pursuing the trade, the Sixers found themselves without a viable market for Harden, leading them to abandon their efforts to trade him.
As Harden’s future with the Sixers remains uncertain, fans and experts eagerly await further developments in the coming weeks, which could potentially reshape the NBA landscape.
