[Saba Sports News] Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 41, has officially confirmed that he will not compete in his seventh World Cup, making this tournament his final appearance at the World Cup stage. He also stated that whether he claims a World Cup title or not will not alter his place in football history. Earlier at a press conference, Ronaldo ruled out featuring in any future World Cups. When questioned by reporters, he remarked: “This will be my last World Cup.” He further stressed that a World Cup trophy would not define his legacy or value: “I am already 41 years old. What more do I need to prove? Honestly, none of this matters. I have achieved everything I could wish for in my career. Winning the World Cup would not make me a greater Cristiano. Equally, failing to lift the trophy will not diminish my greatness in any way.”
The editor believes that Ronaldo has dedicated 23 years to the Portuguese national team, and we can still witness his unwavering passion. He has taken part in six World Cups in total, featuring and scoring in each of the six consecutive tournaments. Previously, Portugal’s best World Cup finish has been the semi-finals.
