[Saba Sports News] The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a devastating blow during their playoff game on Sunday night.
Damian Lillard went down with a non-contact injury midway through the first quarter of Game 4 in the Bucks’ Eastern Conference first-round series against the Indiana Pacers at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
As Lillard pushed off to pursue a rebound, his leg gave out, and he immediately showed signs of a serious injury. Lillard grabbed at his left Achilles tendon area while on the ground and had to be helped off the court, unable to put any weight on his left leg.
Speculation quickly spread that Lillard had suffered a torn Achilles. Reporter Chris Haynes later confirmed that the Bucks fear Lillard indeed tore his left Achilles tendon.
This was only Lillard’s third game back after recovering from a blood clot issue. While he had overcome that health scare, this latest injury — particularly at age 34 — presents a far more daunting challenge for his recovery.
