[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, if David Coote is ultimately dismissed by the Premier League referees’ association, Saudi Arabia may provide him with an “escape route.” Recently, a video leaked showing Premier League referee David Coote insulting Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. The referees’ association officials are continuing their investigation into the 42-year-old referee, and the FA has also launched its own inquiry, which could lead to more serious allegations. Meanwhile, UEFA will not appoint David Coote to officiate European matches while these investigations are ongoing. Reports indicate that results from the investigation are expected soon, and if David Coote is removed, he may revive his career in the Middle East. Earlier this year, the referees’ association began prohibiting referees from officiating in the English league, ending a previously popular source of extra income. After news surfaced of some referees accepting these overseas one-off jobs, clubs and fans expressed strong criticism. Previously, Michael Oliver officiated a fierce match between Al Nassr and Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, earning £3,000 and business class tickets. This fee is approximately double what Oliver earns for officiating a Premier League match, and others have followed suit.
