[Saba Sports News] Eleven years ago, a skiing accident changed the life of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher. Since the skiing accident in December 2013, Schumacher has not made a public appearance. Over the years, he has been living with his family in a private residence in Switzerland, allowing only those closest to him to visit. Markus Fritsche, who worked as Schumacher’s bodyguard for eight years, had the situation change after he was dismissed. Fritsche abused the trust granted to him by taking over 1,500 photos, more than 200 videos, and all medical information about Schumacher, claiming that this information was stored on two USB drives, attempting to extort £12 million from Schumacher’s family. Fritsche warned that if the amount was not paid, he would publish the information. Now, Fritsche has been captured by the police, and his extortion scheme has failed; the case will be tried in Germany next month, and he could face more than 10 years in prison.
