[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Disney+ has reached an agreement to exclusively broadcast Saturday evening La Liga matches in the UK and Ireland for the next three seasons. The platform has secured the rights to broadcast matches starting at 8:30 PM local time every Saturday, and users will only need to pay a base subscription fee of GBP 4.99 per month to watch these matches. Notably, Disney+ also owns ESPN, a major U.S. sports network, and this deal could pave the way for more sports content on the platform, which already broadcasts F1 races in the U.S. The first broadcast will be Valencia vs Real Sociedad, followed by Getafe vs. Barcelona the next week. All other La Liga matches will still be broadcast by Premier Sports, which has extended its partnership with La Liga until the end of the 2027-28 season. In addition to La Liga, Disney+ subscribers can also watch top women’s football matches. Earlier this year, the platform announced it would become the new broadcaster of the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the next five seasons, starting in October.
