Directly confronting the fan, DiVincenzo tersely told him to “Shut the f–k up.” The fan, taken aback by DiVincenzo’s reaction, quietly pointed out that DiVincenzo was actually breaking NBA dress code rules, which require players to keep their uniforms tucked in while on the court.
Despite the fan’s remark, DiVincenzo chose not to engage further or immediately correct his uniform. Although the fan was right about the rule, the night ultimately favored the Bulls, who defeated the Knicks 108-100. DiVincenzo ended the game with 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists over 33 minutes, making the fan’s critique a minor footnote in the evening’s events.
