[Saba Sports News] Borussia Dortmund legend Matthias Sammer is currently not only a club advisor but also a TV expert for Amazon, the German broadcaster of Champions League matches. According to German media, after Sammer publicly criticized Dortmund again last week, club management member Lars Ricken clearly communicated the request for him to stop his TV commentary work involving Dortmund matches. It is reported that Dortmund’s sports director Ricken has suggested to club advisor Sammer to temporarily cease his expert role at Amazon for Dortmund-related Champions League matches until further notice. Sammer has been asked to make a decision by mid-week: either completely stop participating in Dortmund-related commentary work at Amazon or terminate his advisor contract with Dortmund. In his TV expert role, Sammer can earn around 20,000 euros per match, while his annual income at Dortmund is approximately 550,000 euros. Currently, Ricken and club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke are awaiting Sammer’s decision.
