[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, Borussia Dortmund has no intention of recalling Youssoufa Moukoko, who is currently loaned to Nice, to participate in the Club World Cup. This also signals that his future at Dortmund is uncertain. When Moukoko was loaned to Nice last summer, he hoped to regain confidence in Ligue 1. Instead, he fell deeper into a slump. Moukoko’s last appearance was in early February, where he played only one minute, and he hasn’t been considered since. Dortmund has little interest in continuing to keep this former prodigy. The board has already decided what to do in the summer. Moukoko’s contract with Dortmund runs until 2026, but he is unlikely to travel to the U.S. with the team for the Club World Cup. The reason being that his loan contract with Nice ends on June 30. If recalled early, Dortmund would have to bear his salary again. Previously, Moukoko earned an annual salary of approximately 8.5 million euros at Dortmund, meaning calling him back would cost Dortmund 700,000 euros. Dortmund now wants to save this salary, so they plan to keep Moukoko at the loan club until the end of the contract. Only in the event of a massive injury crisis might Dortmund reconsider using Moukoko again.
