[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Max Dowman, the 16-year-old rising star of Arsenal, already has his own portrait rights company. His parents, Robert and Caroline Dowman, have incorporated MRD Images Limited with Companies House in the UK and serve as directors of the firm. Robert plans to manage his son’s fledgling career and has also founded Pantheon Sports Management. Dowman scored a goal in stoppage time during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton last weekend, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history. He is set to sign a contract worth £35,000 a week when he turns 17 in December. Following several impressive substitute appearances for Arsenal, the young player has been compared to Lionel Messi and Kaká.
The editor believes that Dowman is expected to follow in the footsteps of football icons such as David Beckham and earn substantial income through his portrait rights in the future. Players can generate revenue from merchandise featuring their names, nicknames, slogans, autographs, images, portraits, voices, logos, costumes, initials, team or jersey numbers.
