[Saba Sports News] The so-called “Drake Curse” seems to be persisting, as evidenced by the Canadian rapper’s recent unfortunate betting outcomes. Known for placing hefty bets on sports, Drake’s track record for picking winners remains poor. This June, he publicly shared betting slips on Instagram, each carrying a $500,000 stake.
His bets were on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and the Edmonton Oilers to defeat the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. Both bets failed as the Mavericks and Oilers each started their series with three consecutive losses. While the Mavericks were eliminated in five games, the Oilers made a spirited comeback to force a Game 7, only to lose to the Panthers 2-1.
Drake, who recently bought a $15 million ranch in Texas, claimed he placed these bets out of loyalty—a commendable but risky betting strategy. This approach once again proved costly for the rapper, reinforcing the infamous “Drake Curse.”
