[Saba Sports News] In an appearance on ‘The BIG Podcast’ with Shaquille O’Neal, Draymond Green shared some hard truths about the 2016 NBA Finals. With just over two minutes left in Game 4, Green earned a technical foul during an exchange with LeBron James, where he intentionally tried to take a swipe at the basketball legend.
“I tried to hit LeBron and I got suspended for Game 5 of the Finals… and you damn right I tried to hit him. You step over me, I’m a grown *** man,” said Green. “You don’t step over my shoulder. There’s a lot of space on the basketball court, I don’t take up that much space. You don’t need to go over my shoulder. You go over my shoulder, you’re disrespecting me as a man. And so I got suspended for trying to make contact. But you throw a heating pack on the court and that’s okay?”
Game 4 of the 2016 Finals was intense, with the Warriors up 2-1 and close to taking a 3-1 series lead. In the final minutes, Green and LeBron got into a heated exchange that resulted in technical fouls for both players. Green, however, didn’t make contact with LeBron, missing his attempt to get revenge for being stepped over on national television.
Despite not making contact, the refs issued Green a technical foul. Since it was his second tech of the game, he was immediately ejected and suspended for Game 5 due to exceeding the maximum number of technicals.
