[Saba Sports News] According to reports from British media, Chelsea legend and former captain John Terry has consistently been unable to fulfill his dream of coaching Chelsea due to past off-field issues that have led to his current situation. After leaving Aston Villa in 2021, Terry returned to Chelsea as a youth development consultant. He currently works part-time at Chelsea’s youth academy, alongside current head coach Liam Rosenior. Rosenior believes Terry’s presence has a positive impact on young players, but he also stated that any behavior involving racial discrimination should be prohibited. Terry was previously banned for four matches and fined £220,000 by the FA for a racial discrimination incident. Additionally, he faced legal intervention from the Premier League for promoting a cartoon monkey non-fungible token (NFT). Last November, he also supported the release of notorious British prisoner Charles Bronson, events that could affect his future at Chelsea.
The editor believes that, despite this, Terry remains one of the most successful academy products in Chelsea’s history, having made 715 appearances for the club, winning five Premier League titles, five FA Cup titles, three League Cup titles, one Champions League title, and one Europa League title. However, his controversial behavior complicates the possibility of him becoming a head coach at Chelsea or any other club.
