[Saba Sports News] Dwyane Wade may soon get extended airtime on a major television network.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that retired Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is a candidate to join NBC’s lead broadcast team when the NBA returns to the network in the 2025-26 season. Play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle is also a contender for NBC’s lead NBA team.
Currently, Wade and Eagle are covering the Olympic Games in Paris for NBC, which could serve as an audition for a larger role. NBC recently secured NBA broadcast rights from 2025-26 to 2035-36.
The 42-year-old Hall of Famer retired in 2019 and has prior media experience as a studio analyst for TNT from 2019-22. Despite mixed reviews about his on-air charisma, Wade currently hosts the game show “The Cube” on TBS, where he has further honed his skills. A successful Olympic stint for NBC could lead to a bigger position with the network.
