[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, Roma forward Paulo Dybala has triggered an automatic renewal clause in his contract, officially extending his deal with Roma until June 30, 2026. The report states that Dybala’s condition has improved, leading to consecutive starts, and he is increasingly becoming a leading player for Roma as the team’s performance continues to improve. Despite losing to Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League, they still have a chance to compete for a playoff spot in the final round against Frankfurt. Last summer, Dybala was close to joining Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray, but he ultimately decided to stay with Roma. This change thwarted the Red Wolves’ plans to revamp their attacking line, but fortunately, Dybala’s performance this season has been quite impressive. So far this season, Dybala has played 24 matches for Roma, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists, including 5 goals and 2 assists in 18 Serie A matches, making him the team’s second top scorer and joint top assist provider. However, despite activating the renewal clause, Dybala’s future is not 100% certain, as his post-tax annual salary of €8 million remains a concern for Roma.
