The seven-time F1 champion updated his social media profile picture, and the Ferrari team responded by welcoming Hamilton to the team. However, there are differing opinions from the public. Flavio Briatore, an advisor to the Alpine F1 team, stated that if he were in charge of Ferrari, he would not sign Hamilton. Former F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone also expressed skepticism about Hamilton’s future at Ferrari, stating that he does not believe Hamilton will win an eighth world championship, as the Ferrari team is more supportive of young driver Charles Leclerc and will not sacrifice Leclerc’s interests for anyone. From the editor’s perspective, I strongly agree with the former F1 chief’s views. As Hamilton ages and faces the pressure that comes with the Ferrari brand, these factors may affect his performance at Ferrari. Furthermore, considering Leclerc’s potential and contract situation, Hamilton is unlikely to be made the team’s number one driver in Ferrari’s future plans. It is clear that the Ferrari management is more interested in Hamilton’s brand value and the potential benefits he can bring to the team than in his racing results.
