[Saba Sports News] Recently, the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports held its second Road To Gold (RTG) Committee meeting for 2025 this morning, officially announcing the new batch of athletes included in the RTG and Fast Track (FT) program. Malaysian badminton legend and RTG Committee member Datuk Lee Chong Wei spoke at the press conference, stating that Malaysia is hopeful of creating history in the next Olympic Games in three years. It was reported that 12 athletes from four projects—badminton, weightlifting, cycling, and squash—have confirmed their inclusion in the RTG list. Among them, 8 prominent badminton stars were selected for this list, including Aaron Chia Teng Fong, SOH Wooi Yik, Thinaah Muralitharan, TAN Pearly, Man Wei Chong, Kai Wun TEE, Chen Tang Jie, and Toh Ee Wei. In response, Lee Chong Wei stated in an interview that the resources and support provided by RTG, including training, equipment, and event subsidies, are intended to ensure athletes perform at their best on the international stage. Through this plan, he hopes to help more athletes achieve breakthroughs in various events and bring home gold medals for Malaysia at the 2028 Olympics, perhaps not just one but two or even three.
