[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Harvey Elliott will continue to stay at Aston Villa, as negotiations with Liverpool to cancel the mandatory buyout were unsuccessful. Since an agreement for his return to Liverpool couldn’t be reached, Elliott is expected to remain with Aston Villa for the remainder of the season. Previously, Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery had insisted that “Elliott’s situation will not change,” but he did not rule out the possibility of the player leaving on the last day of the transfer window. However, anonymous club sources stated that there has been no progress in negotiations to cancel the clause requiring a mandatory buyout after “10 appearances.” This means that if the clause is activated, Aston Villa would need to pay a fixed transfer fee of £30 million to £35 million to officially buy out the 22-year-old player. If Aston Villa wishes to terminate the agreement, they must pay a termination fee, while Liverpool is also unwilling to recall Elliott. As it stands, the situation remains unchanged, and Elliott will stay with the team until the end of the season.
