[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the travel plans of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur fans for the UEFA Europa League final are under threat due to strikes. Fans traveling to the Europa League final are facing transportation chaos due to airport strikes, with potential flight delays and cancellations potentially costing Tottenham and Manchester United supporters hundreds of pounds. This strike action will affect flights from Gatwick Airport to Bilbao scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday, as fueling staff from Redline Petroleum Services have decided to strike after negotiations over new work terms broke down. Despite EasyJet still selling tickets for flights from Gatwick to Bilbao at prices exceeding 900 pounds, passengers cannot claim compensation even if their flights are delayed or canceled, as this is considered a special circumstance. The Unite union members from Redline have been on strike from Friday, May 16th to Sunday, May 20th, and again from May 23rd to May 27th, after rejecting the company’s new pay proposal. This low-cost airline is one of the company’s main clients. Due to the backlog caused by the strike, fans may also experience delays. These fans have already spent thousands of pounds on flights, transportation, and accommodation. Tottenham and Manchester United fans have paid large sums for flights, transport, and lodging, but the strike action puts them at risk of transport chaos and financial losses.
