[Saba Sports News] Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft hinted that news regarding Adrian Newey’s future may be announced in early September. Recently, Newey’s potential move has been closely linked to Aston Martin. Aston Martin is considered a major contender to sign Newey as they need to strengthen their technical team before the new engine regulations come into effect in 2026. During the live broadcast of the third practice session at the Italian Grand Prix, retired F1 driver Nico Rosberg discussed Newey’s future with Croft. Croft suggested that some news about Newey’s future might be heard next week, with Aston Martin currently in the lead position. In response, Rosberg stated that signing Newey would come at a huge cost, and it seems only Aston Martin can afford it. If Newey joins Aston Martin, he would not be a regular staff member but rather a strategic advisor responsible for conceptualizing, overseeing the team, and supervising major decisions. This season, Aston Martin has underperformed, currently ranking fifth in the Constructors’ Championship without making it into the top three. Some fans have expressed that if Newey’s arrival could elevate the team’s ranking by two places, it would be worth the investment, making it a very straightforward equation.
