[Saba Sports News] Recently, the FA updated its disciplinary violation notice and charged Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. The FA stated: Rodrigo Bentancur has been charged with violating FA Rule E3 due to inappropriate behavior during a media interview. The Tottenham midfielder violated FA Rule E3.1 for inappropriate behavior/using abusive or insulting language/or damaging the reputation of the event. Further charges state that this constitutes a “serious violation” as defined in FA Rule E3.2, which includes references to nationality/race/ethnicity, whether explicit or implicit. Bentancur must respond to this charge by Thursday, September 19, 2024. In June of this year, Bentancur jokingly stated in a program aired in Uruguay called Por la Camiseta that Son Heung-Min and his cousins all look alike. Subsequently, Bentancur apologized to Son Heung-Min on his social media, writing: “Sonny! Brother! I am sorry for everything that happened; it was a tasteless joke. You know I love you; I would never disrespect you or hurt you or anyone else. I love you, brother!”
